What our junior accountant does

As our junior accountant, you’ll support our day-to-day financial admin and make sure our financial reporting is accurate, complete and up to date, so the finance team can do its best work.

More specifically, you’ll take care of ...

  • the daily bookkeeping: you’ll process purchase and sales invoices, post bank transactions, help prepare payments and follow up supplier and client accounts.
  • closing and reporting support: you’ll contribute to month-, quarter- and year-end closings, and assist with audits, VAT filings and other administrative tasks.
  • follow-up: you’ll keep our financial records organised, flag discrepancies and relentlessly chase missing information.
  • Collaboration and optimisation: throughout, you’ll work closely with your colleagues in the finance and other departments, and help improve our ways of working. Think new systems, digitalisation, and so on.

What we are looking for

Our ideal junior accountant has a bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax or finance. Some relevant experience is a plus, but it’s definitely not a must. Don’t have the degree but already know your way around bookkeeping? We’d love to hear from you too.

What matters most is that you are...

  • accurate, organised and analytical: you manage deadlines well, spot discrepancies and are genuinely interested in accounting processes and regulations.
  • discreet and reliable.
  • comfortable around new digital tools; bonus points if you've worked with ERP systems before.
  • a clear communicator and a team player.
  • fluent in Dutch and English; basic French is a plus.

What's in it for you

  • A competitive salary and benefits package, including six additional days of annual leave, a mobile phone subscription, meal and eco vouchers, group insurance, and a public transport pass or bicycle allowance.
  • The flexibility to work from our offices in Brussels or Ghent, too, and partly from home.
  • The chance to learn on the job, and to grow into a broader role as you gain more experience.
  • A fantastic atmosphere, plenty of trust in your abilities, and opportunities to take initiative. That’s what you get when joining a Great Place to Work.
  • A place in a close-knit team that’s happy to share what they know, plus exposure to modern tools and digital ways of working.
  • A dynamic, no-nonsense culture where you’re encouraged to think for yourself.

Who we are

Brigada was born when Fantastic, mortierbrigade, Onlyhumans, Today, Who Owns The Zebra and the B2B team of meetmarcel joined forces. The fight we picked? We want to get brands and people moving again. Not by pushing every button at once, but by pushing for a clear direction. To make sharp decisions, you need to see the bigger picture. That's why we bring together the four key domains of brand, product, people and marketing. We combine the service of an integrated agency with the expertise of all the different specialist agencies that brands would otherwise need – and need to keep aligned.
