UI designer
Brigada is looking for a UI designer (freelance or permanent) who enjoys bouncing between strategic thinking and detailed design work. Design systems are part and parcel of what we do. Sometimes we set them up from scratch; often we work with our clients’ design system managers to extend and apply them. Translating brand identities into interfaces, in close collaboration with our brand designers, is another core part of the role. You’ll combine user insights with strong design skills, and make a mark from wireframes to finished UI.
What our ui designer does
- Work on design systems: setting them up or collaborating with our clients’ design system managers to expand and implement them.
- Translate brand identities into interfaces, together with our brand designers.
- Contribute to UX thinking and strategy.
- Create UI designs that are clear, intuitive and visually strong.
- Collaborate with developers and fellow designers to ensure smooth implementation.
- Keep the work cohesive and on track by regularly touching base with our product, design, concept and strategy leads.
What we are looking for
- At least 5 years of experience as a UI/UX Designer, with a focus on UI.
- A strong portfolio featuring compelling UI work, backed by sound UX thinking.
- Solid experience working with design systems, either building them or contributing to existing ones and translating brand identities into interfaces.
- In-depth knowledge of Figma.
- Confidence using AI tools and assessing the quality of their output.
- An eye for both the details and the bigger picture.
- A willingness to travel between our offices in Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent, with Ghent as your main base.
- Strong communication skills (Dutch and English).
