Performance & operations manager

More clients, more projects, more people to plan around. Right now, that picture lives in spreadsheets, inboxes and a lot of tribal knowledge. If you love turning chaos into one clear overview, and you can spot a problem before it becomes one, we should talk.

What you'll do

As our performance & operations manager, you give Brigada clear, transparent and accurate insight into planning, performance and control across the agency. You build the system that brings it all together, and turn it into reporting our account, finance and management teams actually use: conclusions, remarks and warnings included.

What else is there ...

  • You own long term capacity planning across the agency, making sure people are scheduled well against current and upcoming projects.
  • Together with account teams, you keep planned time and actual spend in line with client contracts and account plans.
  • You map structural resource gaps, build a network of trusted freelancers, and work out the resourcing impact of new pitches with team leads and management.
  • You set up and maintain the system that shows Brigada’s performance: capacity, profitability and billability, per project, per client, per person. You flag what’s going wrong, or particularly well, before anyone has to ask.
  • Track, manage and improve the way of working and operational flows, and report to Finance Director of CFO. The Management Team need to be updated on a regular basis.
  • You advise on staffing decisions, from permanent versus freelance to new vacancies, based on the data you gather. You also map and design new processes, and help roll them out.
  • As our team of traffic managers grows, you lead them, and you shape how we plan and schedule projects across the agency.

What we are looking for

The performance & operations manager of our dreams is structured, sharp and doesn’t wait to be asked twice.

  • You have several years of experience in a planning, performance, operations or resourcing role, ideally within an agency.
  • You have a strong affinity with financial and operational data: profitability, capacity, billability, and you know how to turn it into insight.
  • You’ve built or maintained reporting systems and dashboards before, and you know how to make them work for the people who use them.
  • You build and maintain a clear overview of capacity, planning and scheduling across the whole agency, and you translate that into workable schedules.
  • You spot when a project, client or trend is off track, or doing particularly well, and you say so clearly, without being asked.
  • You deliver clear, well structured reports, tailored to account, finance and management, and you’re comfortable reporting directly to senior management.
  • You’re comfortable signalling sensitive topics, without owning the business decisions behind them.
  • Experience advising on staffing or remuneration questions is a plus.
  • You’re comfortable working in English and your own language, with a basic understanding of the other national language.

What's in it for you

You’ll be joining a team with plenty of expertise and a genuine we’ve-got-your-back mentality. A few other perks:

  • A competitive salary and flexible benefits plan, health and group insurance, internet allowance, meal vouchers, eco vouchers and an annual bonus.
  • Internal and external training opportunities? Absolutely.
  • The flexibility to work from home up to two days a week.
  • You can work from our offices in Antwerp, Ghent, Bruges and Brussels, so we offer plenty of ways to get around, including a lease bike, an electric company car with charging card, or a train pass.
  • You’ll join a Great Place to Work. That means: a fantastic atmosphere, plenty of trust in your abilities, and opportunities to take initiative.
  • Fresh soup every day, and office fruit as the cherry on top.

Who we are

Brigada was born when Fantastic, mortierbrigade, Onlyhumans, Today, Who Owns The Zebra and the B2B team of meetmarcel joined forces. The fight we picked? We want to get brands and people moving again. Not by pushing every button at once, but by pushing for a clear direction. To make sharp decisions, you need to see the bigger picture. That’s why we bring together the four key domains of brand, product, people and marketing. We combine the service of an integrated agency with the expertise of all the different specialist agencies that brands would otherwise need – and need to keep aligned.
